The Walk Itself


This loop gives you a glorious taste of San Clemente's blend of beach culture, natural beauty, and Spanish Village charm.

This walking route is approximately 6 miles roundtrip.


Mindful Reflection


Absorbing the sun's warmth, noticing the hardy coastal plants where the desert meets the sea, and listening to the ocean's steady heartbeat. Each step along this coastal path invites you to breathe in the salt air and discover the gifts presented in each moment.


The Journey Unfolds


Grab your coffee and baked goods and enjoy window shopping the local boutiques housing beach-inspired ware as you walk down

Avenida Del Mar.


Head down the wooden San Clemente Pier admiring views up and down the coast


Then walk along the San Clemente coast on the Pedestrian Beach Trail enjoying the waves, surfers, and daily beach activity.


Climb up the bluff and walk through the San Clemente State Beach Campground revealing terraced sites tucked among coastal

vegetation with stunning glimpses of the Pacific below.


Then continue onto S Ola Vista, a quiet residential street lined with Spanish-style homes, ocean breezes, and occasional glimpses of the

ocean between houses.


Finish the walk meandering along S El Camino Real, the heart of downtown San Clemente, where cute ice cream shops and inviting

cafes offer the perfect reward after your coastal journey.

Just So You Know (the Inside Scoop)


  • There are plenty of amazing eateries along Avenida Del Mar and South El Camino Real to check out.

  • There are also unique, fun thrift stores on North El Camino Real just north of Sur Coffee to explore.

  • You can create a longer walk (and explore Avenida Del Mar after the walk) by heading north along North El Camino Real from Sur Coffee then take a left on Boca de la Playa towards North Beach. From there you can take another left onto the San Clemente Pedestrian Beach Trail. The larger loop is approximately 7 miles.
